Writer, director and performer Kieran Hurley brings early 90s rave tale BEATS to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from 14 - 26 August 2012 as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2012 complete with live DJ Johnny Whoop and accompanied by psychedelic, rave inspired visuals for a full club atmosphere.

59E59 Theaters has announced the 2012 line up for the 8th annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival, beginning on Tuesday, July 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 29. Each July, 59E59 Theaters hosts a plethora of innovative US productions en route to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world. Created as a way to help shows get on their feet before flying off to Scotland, EAST TO EDINBURGH simulates the same production constraints that all shows experience during the Festival, while giving them a clean, comfortable and nurturing space to fine-tune their productions. This whirlwind three-week festival, featuring 16 productions, reflects some of the most adventurous theater from NY and across the US.

The Traverse has announced its 2012 Festival programme. Over four weeks, the Traverse will host nineteen shows and events, with eight world premieres and two Scottish premieres, including a double bill of David Greig's THE LETTER OF LAST RESORT and David Harrower's GOOD WITH PEOPLE.

Artistic Director Steven Atkinson today announced two new HighTide productions premiering at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, August 1-9 at Pleasance and Assembly Theatre respectively.

Pleasance London has announced the line up for its 2012 Edinburgh Preview Season. This year is bigger and better than ever featuring some of the freshest young talent alongside some of the most recognised names in theatre and comedy. Tickets are available from just £5.

All-male a capella vocal group Out of the Blue is formed entirely from students at Oxford and Oxford Brookes Universities. Known for their yearly visits to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in 2011 they made the live semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent. BWW:UK spoke to Selali Fiamanya, second tenor for the group, ahead of Out of the Blue's theatrical concert on the 1-12th of June in Oxford, which will be the largest student-run a cappella event in the UK. Selali is a medical student who joined OOTB in 2010.

Following performances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Live at the Apollo, hit tours of Australia, New Zealand and North America; one of Scotland's biggest comedy exports, Danny Bhoy, brings his internationally renowned Gaelic charm back to Scotland for 5 nights at the Edinburgh EICC 3rd-8th August and tour dates across Scotland from the 12th September.

The Edinburgh City Council have approved plans to close George Street, Edinburgh, for David Bates' Famous Spiegeltent and an al fresco festival area promoted jointly with Tommy Sheppard's Assembly Rooms, according to Brian Ferguson of the Scotsman.

Acclaimed young ensemble curious directive returns to Edinburgh with a brand new show, following the outstanding, Fringe-First winning Your Last Breath at Edinburgh 2011. AFTER THE RAINFALL plays 1-27 August, 2012, at 15:40 (1 hour 15) at the Pleasance.

In 2011, Mark Grist went from being an English teacher in the fens to defeating a teenage grime artist in a rap battle that has attracted over 2 million hit on YouTube. In his first solo Edinburgh show, ROGUE TEACHER, he shares his eventful journey from the classroom to the battlefield through his unique brand of spoken word. The show plays August 2-26 (not 14th) at the Delhi Belly, Underbelly.

Action to the Word's breathtaking all-male version of A Clockwork Orange returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe following its five-star, sell-out run in 2011. This electrifying and testosterone-filled physical theatre horror show exquisitely captures and transcends the spirit of Anthony Burgess' original literary masterpiece, 50 years on from its publication. The show will play August 1-26 at Pleasance Forth in the Pleasance Courtyard at 15:40pm.

The record-breaking West End show Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain is charging up to the Pleasance Courtyard for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer. This special Edinburgh production introduces William Wallace and Burke and Hare into the horrible history of Britain and will run from 3rd - 26th August 2012.

C venues will operate the India Buildings on Victoria Street for this coming Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2012. One of Edinburgh's best-known A-listed buildings in the heart of the Old Town, India Buildings will operate under the festival name C nova.

Mick Perrin for JFLL presents Nina Conti in DOLLY MIXTURES at Pleasance Dome, Potterow, 1 Bristo Square, Edinburgh EH8 9AL from 1st - 27th August at 8.30pm, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

William Burdett-Coutts, the artistic director of Assembly Theatre, the organisation which ran Fringe shows at the Assembly Rooms before moving to George Square due to the building's refurbishment in 2010, has suggested that Assembly Fringe is 'passing off'. As previously reported in BroadwayWorld, the Assembly Fringe will be running shows in the Assembly Rooms this year from July onwards.

The World Shakespeare Festival opens Monday 23 April and the UK is set for its largest ever celebration of Shakespeare. The Edinburgh International Festival's three contrasting takes on Shakespeare at Festival 2012 will form a key part of the World Shakespeare Festival in Scotland this August.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society have endorsed two new short-term insurance packages put together specifically for performers at the Fringe festival.

Following a sell out run at the Traverse Theatre during the 2011 Fringe, A Slow Air, written and directed by David Harrower, will tour to 59E59 Theatres, New York (4-28 April) before arriving at the Tricycle Theatre for a limited run from 7 May to 2 June, with opening night on 10 May. A Slow Air is being produced by Tron Theatre Company.

Sell A Door Theatre Company will return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year with a revival of their production of David Auburn's Proof from 3rd to 27th August at the Pleasance Above Theatre, 2pm daily.

Iron Shoes has announced the national tour dates for their production of Mad About the Boy. The production will receive its London première at the Unicorn Theatre on Saturday 12 May before embarking on a UK tour.
